A Collaborative Effort for Safer Gambling
The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has announced the success of its 2024 Safer Gambling Week campaign. The initiative, which ran from November 18th to 24th, saw record-breaking engagement across social media platforms and a surge in website traffic.
The campaign garnered significant support from various stakeholders, including football clubs like Aston Villa and Southampton, as well as prominent figures in the gambling industry and government. The backing of influential individuals such as Baroness Fiona Twycross and Stuart Andrew further amplified the campaign’s message.
Grainne Hurst, CEO of the BGC, expressed her satisfaction with the results: “These outstanding figures demonstrate our industry’s unwavering commitment to promoting safer gambling. The increased use of safer gambling tools, such as time-outs and deposit limits, is a testament to the effectiveness of our efforts.”
By raising awareness of responsible gambling practices and providing easy access to support resources, Safer Gambling Week has played a crucial role in fostering a safer and more responsible gaming environment.
